Night out at YoYo

I honestly wasn’t originally going to post about this night but I was telling C about my night and she found this pretty hilarious and a good story to share so I’m going to write about what happened. Also it’ll be a good story to read about when I’m older ha ha.

On a Saturday night I went to Yoyo with some friends and we managed to get a table to sit and drink, which was good because all I wanted to do was to sit and drink and not meet anyone new or talk to anyone I didn’t know. I honestly hadn’t cause up with my friend in a while and I wanted to catch up with her so that’s why.

Throughout the night there were a couple of guys that had hit on me but there was one guy in particular that was pretty persistent. Anyway, this guy came up to me while I was sitting at the table with my friends and he sat down next to me, much to my dismay. (Remember, all I wanted to do that night was talk to my cousin and drink, not meet anyone new.)

Call me a bitch but when he sat down I rejected him straight away. I told him that seat was taken to avoid talking to him but he didn’t realise I wasnt interested and instead he goes, “oh but c’mon I just want to have a chat” so obviously I let him take the seat and let him talk. When we did it honestly felt like a god damn interrogation, but that was because I didn’t ask him the question back as in I wasn’t like “how about you?”. After a while he got bored and left, and I must add in here that I gave him a fake phone number when he asked for my number. I told K this and I swear she subtly implied that I made a bitchy move. Eh.

Anyway not long after he left he came back and wanted to talk some more so naturally I let him even though I couldn’t be bothered/didn’t have the energy to converse. He asks me what I want to talk about but I couldn’t think up of a topic so I pointed out the fact he’s the one who wanted to talk and therefore he should be the one leading the conversation. He goes, “good point, what do you like to do in your spare time?”

I was literally like “stuff” and he probably thought I was some bitchy-ass bimbo. After that the conversation died for a bit and he turned his head away from me then turned back to me and he smiled. And then that was the funny thing that happened. The moment of the story that C found so funny she continued to make jokes about this moment for the rest of the night.

He drooled.

Yes he smiled at me and then drooled. After that he let out a laugh which came off somehow quite creepy but at the same time made me laugh my ass off.

After that he walked off and didn’t speak to me for the rest of the night.

Wicked: The Musical

Last night I went out and saw Wicked: The Musical. I went with my good friend, G, and we met up with her at Glenny station and had an early dinner chow down before hopping onto the train to head off to the city. We met up pretty early and therefore got there quite early (even though a bunch of trains were cancelled for some unknown reason), and early means, about two hours or so before the show was due to start. We bumped into A on the train and trained with her until she had to hop off at MC, then G and I ended up getting off at Southern Cross and decided to go down to Docklands and watch the Winter Fireworks, since it was a free viewing and a way of killing time.

When we got there it the sun was about a set and not a whole lot of people were there yet, so we got a good view – as in we were in the first line of viewing. I ended up taking a panorama since it was really pretty. The iPhone never does sceneries justice unfortunately.

It wasn’t until about 7PM when the fireworks started, so we were chilling at Docklands for about a good half an hour before the fireworks show started. It went for about 10 minutes so I took a crap load of photos, but here are some nice ones I got during the event.

After that we took a tram down to Collins Street to get to the Regent Theatre. I swear if I ever shop at Collins Street since it’s all the top designer brands on that street, I’ll actually feel so proud of myself lol. Anyway, when we arrived at Regent Theatre everyone was entering in already so it was perfect timing. I decided to buy a merch shirt since I want to make it a thing when I go to concerts/musicals etc. – like I have to buy a souvenir from there no matter what. I ended up purchasing the black shirt with the well-known Wicked photo on the front of promotional posters with the two main characters. Anyway we got seated and this was what the stage looked like.

The show soon started and safe to say I was amazed at the entire performance. I absolutely loved the musical. Seeing it live in comparison to watching it on YouTube or just listening to the soundtrack alone was just so different and so much better. Spending money on experiences than clothes that night was certainly the right choice, because by the end of the night I was giving them a standing ovation. So yes, safe to say I loved the musical. I kinda honestly didn’t want it to end either.

MCCC Ball

Thursday night was when MCCC Ball happened. I went as E’s plus one, so naturally, I ended up going with his friends and stayed at one of his friend’s apartment. Anyway, I got to K’s apartment in Docklands at about 4-ish and then ended up sleeping until 5 because I was that tired lol.

Anyway, when I woke up I decided to get ready since the other two girls were getting ready. I already had half my make up done and my hair done so I finished off my make up, fixed up my curls and had to iron my dress since it was really creased at the sheer part haha. Also, when I was getting ready, E had to go out and meet a friend to pick up a corsage since I asked for one the night before, and didn’t realise that I actually wanted one ages ago since he didn’t think I was serious. Going back to the dress, K actually ended up ironing my dress for me since I didn’t know how to use her iron lololol. After she ironed like half of my dress, I decided to take over and ironed the rest myself.

After that, we took some pictures in the apartment, and the lights had come on in the city so it looked amazing from K’s apartment. I even took a photo lol. After that, we all took shots of whisky lol.

Once we were all finally ready, we walked down to Crown Palladium and we were all ready to have fun and get our $140 worth haha. Here are some pictures from the night, and I must say, I pride myself on being able to down 5 champagne sunrises for the whole entire night. I was pretty drunk by the end of it, let’s say, head spinning and everything haha.

Anyway, when we got back to the apartment, we decided to play Kings. Actually not all of us, only E and J did, while D poured the shots and kept feeding people red bull. Haha, anyway, it was time to go the after party so after changing and putting on a pair of flats, we headed back down to crown.

The after party was held at Fusion which was so much fun yet so tiring and too much dancing. We got there at 12, I got really tired at like 1.45 ish. Hahaha. Oh yeah and when I was getting my ID checked before I went into the club, the bouncer was like “How much have you had to drink?” and I told him “Not much. I slept before I came here” LOLOLOL. What lies. He let me through so that was pretty good haha. Here’s come photos from the night. Didn’t take that many actually.

After that we walked back home and picked up some food on the way back to K’s and then slept to end our fun and memorable night.

Ray’s 20th

On Saturday I went to Ray’s 20th which started at 2. Weird time to start a party I know but anyway I arrived at 2 being my punctual self and just as I expected I was early! Therefore I helped set up by washing lettuce and grating cheese.

The party was pretty chill overall actually, relaxing and fun! I met new people and saw familiar faces again and everyone there was lovely. Ray’s mum was so cute too when she brewed us tea lol. We pretty much chatted, played Timber by Pitbull and Ke$ha since Ray loathed that song with a burning passion and got K, K and J into a monkey suit which was hilarious because K greeted people by lying on the floor in a ‘sexy’ position when guests opened the front door.

We also watched some of the guys play basket ball and had ice cream cake towards the end of the night when R’s girlfriend snuck down to Woolies and bought cake. So good omg haha!

Anyway I got tired and after that I went home. Was gonna go to White Night but then I guess I was too tired to go and cause I was told not to since it was way over crowded. Apparently 500 000 went lul, strong crowd. Also, short post because I honestly can’t be bothered typing out that much.

Oh yeah, also got myself a new mini iPad. Yay.

Weekend Getaway – Day 3

Day three of the Canberra trip started off with going to the Sunday market. I’m not too sure if it was called the Victorian market or something, totally forgot actually, but yeah we entered the place which had everything (it felt like it). They had food stalls and stuff you can buy toys/plants etc from and everything.

We were there to eat since it was roughly noon and we were getting hungry. B suggested to get a table first since the place apparently got really busy and was popular so after we found a table all of us could fit on we decided to go order some food. I ended up ordering a crepe which was actually really massive and filling by the time I was almost finished eating it, swear I had a food baby after. We also got these orange juice drinks which were amazingly really sweet and honestly the best orange juice I’ve ever tasted.

The man that sold the orange juice owned this amazing orange crusher death machine to make the orange juice. I swear I spent like a while staring at it haha. After we wondered around the place we then walked to this glass museum and watched how they made glass and whatnot.

Once we were bored of the glass making we made our way back to the car and B drove us to War Memorial. I swear going into that place is absolutely depressing. I mean people sacrifice their life for your freedom and here I am typing up a blogpost. It felt like it had a sad atmosphere I reckon, and we were there for about 2-3 hours since the place was massive to wonder around.

Windows from War Memorial, so pretty

After a few hours of walking around the War Memorial, B started complaining she was tired and wanted to go back home so we started making our way out of the building and made our way home.

When we got home I think we played a few X-Box games and started also watched some Australian Open. Then it was about 6:30 and B started making dinner for us which was very tasty. Then later at about 9-ish we went on a tour of ANU cause S wanted to, so here’s a picture of the pretty park at night, lol.

ANU

Anyway, we then made our way back to the room and ended up finishing the rest of the cider we bought the day before and watched a Breaking Dawn and Mean Girls before heading off to sleep to leave Canberra the next morning.

The Double Date Thief

On Wednesday I met up with G and booked tickets to see The Book Thief. I’d heard positive things about this movie from another friend so I was actually expecting quite a lot from this movie, with the only knowledge that the movie was based off a book about a girl who steals books (as suggested by the title). Bottom line, I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I stepped into the cinemas.

About 10/15 minutes into the movie, the projector actually screwed up and cut off, causing the big viewing screen to go black, but a couple minutes later an usher came into the cinema and told us there was something wrong with the projector and it’ll take a couple minutes to fix it, and that’s when I spotted little petite J with P. They ended up moving over next to where we were sitting, and they told us they’d literally arrived, just before the movie cut off.

J was kind enough to offer us staff discounted food from the Candy Bar, but before we could decide on what to eat, the movie was up and running again. When the movie was playing, I actually quite enjoyed how the movie kept on going and never slowed down. Event after event, I never thought one of the scenes were dull, and were in fact heart-warming or depressing. Towards the end of the movie I almost shed a tear, but I forced myself not to haha but it is sad and emotional but it is a pretty good movie. However, one character that annoyed me most was Rudy. I certainly did not like how he was so nosy and always clinging onto Leisel and just always there, omg. As quoted from Leisel, “he’s a pain in the neck”.

When the movie ended, G, J, P and I all decided to have dinner together, and thought we should dine at Straits of Malacca. G ended up ordering Fried Chicken Drumsticks, P order Chicken Rice, J order the Curry Laksa and I went with the Prawn Noodle Soup.

Say Hello to our food and a blurry faced J, lol

When everyone finished eating, J was still eating her dinner, and decided she would finish everyone’s left overs. She ended up eating P’s chicken, some of G’s fried chicken and drank the soup of my prawn noodles, while continuing to eat the curry laksa she ordered.

Weekend Getaway – Day 1

Day 1 of the Canberra trip was pretty chill since it was eight long hours of travelling, but I suppose it wasn’t too bad as both the transports had air conditioning since it was like 30-40 degrees that day in Melbourne.

I met up with S at about 10ish at Glen Waverley station where we collected our tickets and headed off to Southern Cross station. We chatted for most of the train ride to Southern Cross, and when we got there which was like 11:30 it was pretty hot so I had this feeling the v/line train would be cancelled. Anyway, we walked to this random platform at Southern Cross since we saw the v/line train there but it wasn’t ours since it wasn’t heading to where we were going and it was leaving at an earlier time than it said on our tickets.

We then walked to the v/line station, but we were told the trains were not working and instead we were getting a replacement bus service. We then walked all the way to where all the (replacement) busses were in Southern Cross and soon enough we found our bus to Albury. The bus ride was ages long, and we only had one or two bathroom breaks, can’t remember.

Anyway, soon enough we arrived at Albury station and our bus to Canberra was already waiting for us. We hopped onto the bus and sat in our seats for about three hours. We arrived at about 8:30 and when we got there, H was there and greeted us. He was pretty happy to us since he told us he had no friends in Canberra and had gotten pretty emotional over watching a video of people giving presents to the homeless. We started walking towards Karmel Lodge and met B along the way, where she took us the room S and I were staying at. We settled in then made our way to B’s room, where she’d made dinner for us.

After dinner we went over to B’s friend’s place, where they had this share. It’s like a giant apartment with 5 rooms, which was pretty cool. One of the residents had a cat living in place, which was awesome. As S mentioned before, in her guest post, the cat’s name is Mabel.

Mabel – grey ball of fluff/queen of the house

After playing with Mabel we then helped out B and B’s friends with massive puzzle (which I was horrible at) while they studied for their exam the next morning. After a while of epically failing at the puzzle, we then decided to order food from Dominos. H ordered an entire pizza for himself while S and I decided to split the garlic bread with some sprite.

Not long after we decided to go back to our room. H offered his spare room which sounded pretty good, but once we walked through ANU and he showed me around the massive university campus, we arrived at Ursula hall and I was regretting moving since his spare room had no air con and was sauna. The room H was currently residing in was a lot more cooler since he had a fan. We decided pull an all nighter for some reason ended up watching the One Direction movie and The Incredibles, while popping open a bottle of Rekorderlig.  Some time after, we decided to watch the sunrise from the top of a car park, and killed some time to 11, by sleeping where we’d meet B and S for lunch.
